How to Measure for Belt Size

When shopping for one of our Fennells-made leather dog collars, please follow any of these three methods to ensure the proper size:

If you are measuring dog’s neck, hold the tape “two fingers loose” and order that size. (Test that your loop is snug enough that it will not pull over dog’s head.)

If you are measuring a nylon collar with plastic snaps at the ends, measure that collar from end to end and order that size.

If you’re measuring a buckle-type collar, measure from the tip of the buckle to the hole that is worn the most. This will be the collar size to order.

What if the dog collar I ordered doesn’t fit?

We are able to move your personalized nameplate from the collar that doesn’t fit to a new collar with your corrected size. There is an associated charge of $8.50 for this service, plus any return shipping costs. While we don’t like to pass further costs along to you, the best way to avoid size exchanges is by following the above instructions to properly measure for a dog collar.

If you must return a collar to be exchanged for the correct size, we only ask that you treat your return as something that will be resold as new. If you try on the collar “too hard,” creasing on the leather or leaving smudges, this will make the collar difficult to sell again. We reserve the right to discount any collar that is returned with excessive handling, such as described above.
